UPDATED TREADER AND HORN DESIGN
Your center channel speaker is the lifeblood of your home theater system. It reproduces almost all of the dialogue in a movie or TV show. It's important to get a center channel speaker that can reproduce voices and explosions with the same level of detail. Klipsch has made some tweaks to the RP-500C II tweeter and horn to make center channel effects sound as clear and accurate as possible.

The 1″ LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) tweeter features a vented enclosure to reduce standing waves that can compromise sound quality. The signature Tractrix® horn it’s built into has an expanded mouth for better soundstage and directivity. The horn also features a soft silicone face and a unique phase plug that keeps highs smooth and fatigue-free.

70% LARGER VOICE COIL
There is a 5-1/4″ Ceremetallic™ woofer on either side of the center tweeter. The woofers give the center channel sound effects, such as explosions, and help reproduce voices in the lower registers. Metallic woofers are nothing new to Klipsch speakers, but the company has significantly improved the motor structures behind the cones.

Each woofer uses a 70% larger voice coil for greater control, speed and precision. The woofers also feature new aluminum sealing rings that help reduce distortion and allow the speakers to handle a little more power.

CABINET FOR DEEPER BASS
The 500C II cabinet features rear-firing Tractrix ports that help deepen the speaker's bass response. The horn-shaped port design promotes more efficient airflow into and out of the cabinet, reducing port noise and low-frequency distortion.

Where and how you place your center channel speaker is important. Since this speaker uses a portable enclosure, you don’t want to place it against a wall or the back of your entertainment center. Instead, we recommend giving the midrange speaker some “breathing room” by pulling it away from the wall. The speaker’s bass response will thank you.
