COLD WELDED, GOLD-PLATED PLUG
This plug design allows for a solderless connection, a common source of distortion. Instead of soldering, the process uses a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.

NOISE DISSIPATION OF METAL LAYERS
A noise-draining "shield" that absorbs and reflects most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to the ground.

SYMMETRIC COAXIAL GEOMETRY
The same positive (+) and negative (-) conductors prevent the shield from being used as a poor sound conductor.

SOLID LONG GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS
Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) provides smoother, clearer sound than cables using conventional OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Conductivity) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. Surface quality is crucial because the conductor can be thought of as a guide rail for electric fields within the conductor and for magnetic fields outside the conductor. LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, and definitely better performance.

POLYETHYLENE FOAM INSULATION
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an incomplete circuit. The wire insulation and circuit materials absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Since air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene has a low loss and benign distortion profile, foamed PE with its high air content causes much less of the defocusing effect that is typical of other materials.
